On July 3rd 2004, we held a BBQ and Drive-In movie at our house for the singles group at our church. This was the 2nd BBQ we hosted. 20 people attended our first one, 40 people signed up for this one, but over 50 showed up! Here's a view from the corner of the backyard. We have a couple of single seats set up and chairs around a round patio table.

Here you can see some more tables and chairs. We had enough seating for 46 people. There are 4 speakers under the eave of the sunroom. We had music playing for the BBQ, and then when we started the movie, the speakers were attached to the DVD player. A white tarp was dropped from underneath the speakers. That turned the entire wall into a giant movie screen!

Here's some more seating. Nice cushioned patio chairs make a nice conversation area. You can see the new top that Eva put on the canopy... This outdoor material looks nicer and more durable than the original white plastic tarp covering.

We had some seating set up for small kids too.

Here's a view from the opposite end of the yard. As you can see we used the entire patio. After dinner was finished, we folded up the tables and moved the chairs to face the back wall of the sunroom for the movie.

We set the foosball table up outside, and brought the kitchen cart out to hold the coffee urn. We have ropes anchoring down the canopy to make sure it doesn't fly away.

We moved the dinette set out into the sunroom. You might notice that the sunroom looks brighter... that's because we removed the inside lattice. Because we had at least 50 guests, some folks sat around the table here.

Here's the first of a few shots of our guests. Because I was busy manning the BBQ grill, I didn't get to take pictures while all 50+ people were eating.

Here's a shot of the pool. It is a 15ft round pool that is 3.5 ft tall. The top ring inflates and you simply fill it with water. It was easy to set up and the whole kit was complete... pool, filter, hoses, ladder, skimmer, vacuum head, and pole. The kids had a great time.

Lots of great conversation.. everyone had a blast. When the sun went down we brought out the video projector (Kodak LC-500) and a portable DVD player and set up for the movie: Alfred Hitchcock's "The Trouble With Harry". This movie was hysterically funny... you don't usually think of Hitchcock films being funny, but this one was.

We supplied the Spare Ribs, hamburgers, and hot dogs, and drinks. Our guests brought the salads, desserts, and various side dishes. We had a great variety of food...thankfully only 2 people brought potato salad.
