Here are a bunch of pictures we took on our recent (Jun 22, 2008) vacation... a 4 day cruise from Los Angeles to Catalina Island to Ensenada, Mexico.
We just boarded the ship, opened up the curtain on our window (yes we had an actual window... no more steerage for us!). Here Eva and the kids are checking out the schedule of events for the day.

Here's a shot of the Atrium. It is near the center of the ship and rises up 5 decks.

The Atrium contains 2 scenic glass elevators.

One last view of the Atrium. Shown is the shore excursion counter, the bar, up one desk is the library and Galleria shop.

Before the ship can set sail, a muster drill is required. Here we are at our designated muster station and in the event of the ship sinking or the buffet running out of food, we would meet here with our life jackets.

Just up 2 decks above our cabin was the Queen Mary Lounge. Here there were Karaoke sessions, 80's music trivia, daily movies (we saw the Bourne Ultimatum, great action flick), and comedian shows.

Here's the sunset shortly after we left Long Beach. This photo was taken from the rear deck of the Paris Restaurant on deck 10.

The marina is a popular place.

Elizabeth isn't impressed. She'd rather be shopping for Webkinz or instant messaging with friends.

A typical street in Avalon. Golf carts are the standard mode of motorized transportation.

Just a small portion of an elaborate mosaic that lines the walk from the main shopping district to the Casino.

These innocent looking ladies appear to be enjoying a leisurely chat on the Lido Deck. But in reality, they were planning a heist. They were going to hit the pharmacy for every container of Metamucil they could carry. An inopportune game of Bingo distracted them from their plans.
